Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces

Antiquorum, The World's Premier Auctioneers of Modern and Vintage Timepieces, is pleased to present its fall auction of "Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces" to be held on Friday, October 19th at The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Collectors can look forward to bidding on 323 outstanding modern and vintage timepieces. Amongst the unique and collectible highlights is a Harry Winston "OPUS V" in 18K pink gold, a Louis Vuitton "Tambour Diving II" diver's wristwatch with square button chronograph in18K black gold, and a series of Patek Philippe timepieces, including the Patek Philippe Ref. 5101P 10 Days Tourbillon in platinum and the Patek Philippe Ref. 5131G-001 World Time wristwatch in 18K white gold (sealed). Previews will be held at Antiquorum Hong Kong showroom from Tuesday, October 16th through Thursday, October 18th.

 

Patek Philippe Ref. 5101P The highlight of the sale is a Patek Philippe Ref. 5101P 10 Days Tourbillon in platinum. It is an extremely fine and very rare, Art Deco style platinum chronometer wristwatch with one-minute tourbillon regulator, tandem mainspring barrels for 10-day power-reserve and a platinum Patek Philippe buckle. This exceptional wristwatch is further accompanied by the Certificate of Origin, chronometer rating certificate, instruction booklet, leather folder, and the original wood fitted box.

Estimate: HKD 1,300,000 - 1,700,000


Harry Winston Opus VHarry Winston collaborates with the best independent watchmakers to create an innovative unique masterpiece every year to be added to its Opus collection. The brand's original insight and perseverance reflects its resolution towards horological excellence. In 2005, Harry Winston teamed up with Felix Baumgartner; the German genius watchmaker to create Opus V. Opus V combines the functionality of the Opus collection and cutting-edge contemporary design. It is the world's first watch with "Satellite Hour" display by three separate blocks. Each block carries 4 numerals that indicate the hour while spinning around two axes. The model was made in a limited edition of 100 examples in 2005, with only 45 examples made in pink gold, features retrograde minutes, 122-hour power reserve, day/night display and a Harry Winston 18K pink gold buckle. It is accompanied by the original fitted box and warranty.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5131G-001Patek Philippe collectors will want to bid on the Patek Philippe Ref. 5131G-001 in 18K white gold (sealed). Announced at Basel World in 2008, this superb timepiece with exquisite cloisonné enamel dial is known for its horological precision and beauty. Each cloisonné enamel dial is carefully made by the hands of talented artists. The Ref. 5131 is only produced in a small amount every year due to its high level of complexity and difficulty in the production process. The magnificent watch with world-time system, cloisonné enamel dial and a Patek Philippe 18K white gold deployant clasp was sold on June 13th, 2012 and is accompanied by fitted box, Certificate of Origin, booklets, and still sealed in the service box.

Patek Philippe Ref. 3970EGAnother highlight of the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 3970EG with round button chronograph in 18K white gold. Made in 1999 and sold on 15th January, 2011, the exceptional timepiece with perpetual calendar, moon phases, 24-hour indication, leap year and an 18K white gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp is accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5050GAntiquorum experts are also pleased to offer another exceptional Patek Philippe timepiece, Ref. 5050G 18K white gold wristwatch with Roman dial and perpetual calendar. The Ref. 5050 was the first Patek Philippe perpetual calendar wristwatch to feature a "retrograde date". This timepiece is very fine and very rare, with perpetual calendar, retrograde date, leap year indication, moon phases and an 18K white gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp. It is accompanied by the Certificate of Origin.

Patek Philippe Ref. 1146Specially presented by Antiquorum experts is the Patek Philippe Ref. 1146 "Piece Unique - Pendulette Dome - Fêtes des Vendanges" table clock. It is a magnificent and unique, solar-powered and electro-mechanical brass table clock with exquisite polychrome cloisonné enamel panels depicting scenes celebrating the grape harvest season in a pastoral landscape. This clock was originally sold on September 22nd, 1996 and is accompanied by the original fitted box, guarantee, registration card, instruction manual, brochure, and magazine (International Wrist Watch 1995).

Patek Philippe Ref. 5960P-001Fans of Patek Philippe will be interested in the Ref. 5960P-001 platinum and diamond wristwatch with round button flyback chronograph. This watch features a combined 30/60-minute and 12-hour register, annual calendar, power reserve, day/night indications and a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp. It is accompanied by the original fitted box, Certificate of Origin, setting pin and instruction booklet.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5350R 18K pink gold wristwatchNot to be missed is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5350R 18K pink gold wristwatch, made in a special edition of 300 pieces in 2007 and sold on October 16th, 2007. This is a rare and innovative self-winding wristwatch with annual calendar, power reserve indication, moon phases, silicon escape wheel, Silinvar Spiromax balance spring and an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp. This fine example is accompanied by the Certificate of Origin, booklets, service box, hang tag and push pin.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5150G in 18K white gold wristwatchAnother noteworthy timepiece is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5150G in 18K white gold wristwatch, retailed by Tiffany & Co. Made in 2001, this is a very fine and rare self-winding wristwatch with semi-instantaneous digital triple date, annual calendar, moon phases, 48-hour autonomy and an 18K white gold Patek Philippe buckle. It is accompanied by the original fitted box, outer Tiffany box, commemorative medal, instruction booklet and Certificate of Origin.

Louis Vuitton Tambour PieceCollectors will be vying for the Louis Vuitton Tambour Piece Unique made for Only Watch 2011. This very fine and unique 18K black gold diver's wristwatch features a square button chronograph, counter, date and orange Louis Vuitton rubber strap with an 18K black gold Louis Vuitton buckle, was sold at the Only Watch auction in 2011. It is accompanied by a specially designed Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite canvas presentation trunk with embossed message, CD from Paul Pettavino, additional black and orange alligator straps and certificate
